New to town, Beatrice is expecting her new best friend to be one of the girls she meets on the first day. But instead, the alphabet conspires to seat her next to Jonah, aka Ghost Boy, a quiet loner who hasn't made a new friend since third grade. Something about him, though, gets to Bea, and soon they form an unexpected friendship. It's not romance, exactly - but it's definitely love. Still, Bea can't quite dispel Jonah's gloom and doom - and as she finds out his family history, she understands why. Can Bea help Jonah? Or is he destined to vanish?

This was a book that I just randomly borrowed from the Library. I didn't know anything about it and so didn't have any expectations for it.
At the beginning of the book I liked the quirkiness of Bea's mother and her relationship with Bea, but by the end of the book I could see that that their relationship was more of a friendship than the mother/daughter relationship that Bea really wanted.
I am still not sure of what I think of Jonah. He was very mysterious and so I am not sure I even know that much about him. He has been through alot and so I can see why he is the way he is.
I really liked the whole late night radio idea and all the unique characters involved. Although, it might not be realistic it was very entertaining and interesting to read them talk amongst themselves.
I would have liked a more definitive ending to the novel, although I can understand why it ended the way it did.
