Book Review #146 - Scary School (Scary School #1) by Derek the Ghost

Scary School

You think your school's scary?

Get a load of these teachers:

Ms. Fang, an 850-year-old vampire
Dr. Dragonbreath, who just might eat you before recess
Mr. Snakeskin—science class is so much more fun when it's taught by someone who's half zombie
Mrs. T—break the rules and spend your detention with a hungry Tyrannosaurus rex!

Plus

Gargoyles, goblins, and Frankenstein's monster on the loose

The world's most frighteningly delicious school lunch

And

The narrator's an eleven-year-old ghost!

Join Charles "New Kid" Nukid as he makes some very Scary friends—including Petunia, Johnny, and Peter the Wolf—and figures out that Scary School can be just as funny as it is spooky!

My Rating: 4/5

I received this book for review from the author. The author's Goodreads page is here.

This book reminded me of the Goosebumps books I used to read when I was a kid. It just had that kind of feel to it.

The Ghoul Games reminded me of the Triwizard Tournament from Harry Potter.

I really liked the broad range of paranormal creatures that were involved throughout the book. The pictures also added a whole other dimension to the story.

I would probably only recommend this book to children around 12 years old and under because they will probably get the most enjoyment out of it.
